2. New petitions
2.1P-04-344 Freshwater East Public Sewer
The Chair thanked the clerking team for their swift processing of the petition.
The Committee agreed to:
Await response from the Minister for Environment and Sustainable
Development;
Write to Dŵr Cymru Welsh
Water.
2.2P-04-345 Rail and Bus Links between Aberystwyth and Carmarthen
The Committee agreed to await the responses from the Minister for Local Government and Communities, and await the consultation response which will close on 6 January 2012.
2.3P-04-346 Free Childcare for 3-4 Year Olds in Wales
The Committee agreed to:
Await the response from the Minister for Education and
Skills;
Write to the Welsh Local Government Association and to the
Children’s Commissioner for Wales, seeking their views on the
issue; and
Issue a targeted consultation.
2.4P-04-347 Property and Asset Review
The Committee agreed to:
Await the response from the Minister for Finance and the Leader of
the House;
Write to Peter Black AM, Assembly Commissioner with responsibility
for the Assembly Estate and facilities.
2.5P-04-348 Recycling Targets for Health Boards
The Committee agreed to:
Await the response from the Minister for Health and Social
Services;
Write to the Local Health Boards seeking their views on the
issue.
2.6P-04-349 Welsh-medium Provision - Caerphilly
The Committee agreed to write to the Minister for Education and Skills seeking his views on the petition.
2.7P-04-350 Retain the services of Sporttrain in Rhondda and Cardiff
The Committee agreed to:
Await the response from the Minister for Education and
Skills;
Seek the views of the partners involved, including Local
Councillors and Community Leaders; Communities First; the Police;
and the Local Safeguarding Boards)
Copy the constituency and regional Assembly Members into this
correspondence.
3. Updates to previous petitions
3.1P-03-263 List Stradey Park
It was clarified that it was not the Stradey Park pitch which was subject to the ‘Village Green’ application as was stated in the update report, but an area in the wider Stradey Park estate.
The Committee agreed to await the outcomes of
the Cadw consultation, due in April 2012;
Write to the developers to seek their views.
3.2P-03-306 Save Barry Theatre
The Committee agreed to close the petition.
3.3P-04-335 The Establishment of a Welsh Cricket Team
The Committee agreed:
To send a reminder letter to the Minister for Housing, Regeneration
and Heritage asking for his views on the petition;
That the clerking team should draw up a list of possible invitees to a round table discussion on the issue;
To write to sport bodies not included in the call for evidence to seek their views on the petition.
3.4P-03-313 The Animal Welfare (Breeding of Dogs) (Wales) Regulations 2011
The Committee agreed to:
Keep the petition open until the revised regulations are issued;
Notify the petitioners that although there is little more that the Committee can do at this stage, it will return to the issue when the regulations have been issued.
3.5P-04-333 Stop neglect and abandonment of horses and ponies by enforcement of microchipping laws
The Committee agreed to write to the Cross-Party Group on the Horse, asking them to consider this petition.
